Great news for the iMac ever growing fanbase, more than 175 application titles have been introduced by third-party software developers since the iMac was announced on May 6. Developers introducing new Mac OS titles included on the ever growing list:
Adobe Systems, Blizzard Entertainment, Disney Online, Eidos plc, Feral Entertainment, GoLive Systems, Intuit, The Learning Company, Lucas Learning, MacSoft, Mattel, SegaSoft, and Simon & Schuster Interactive.
Newton Press allows users to create documents on your desktop computer, then publish them as Newton books. This release adds support for new Newton OS-based hardware; two-page and landscape document display; faster ASCII text imports; and faster book creation.
More than 3,000 customers have purchased the latest version of Apple's application server software -- WebObjects 3.5, a tool for building and deploying Internet-based application solutions. Leading organizations, such as Adobe Systems, Standard & Poor's, and the U.S. Department of Defense, are using WebObjects to create powerful Internet, e-commerce, human resources, and asset-management applications. Apple has announced that WebObjects 4.0, expected to be released later this year, will debut on Apple PowerPC processor-based computers, in addition to the currently supported Windows and UNIX platforms.
Leading peripheral vendors have announced that they'll deliver Universal Serial Bus-based disk drives, printers, scanners, digital cameras, and game controllers to support Apple's innovative new iMac consumer computer. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) allows the iMac to communicate with these kinds of add-on devices.
RhapNet's "USB Product Guide" provides information on a variety of interesting USB-based hardware products soon to be available, including digital imaging products, storage hardware, and game controllers.

This week Griffin Technology announced an iMate USB-to-ADB adapter, which allows users to take advantage of ADB devices on iMac computers. (Users of iMac systems will be limited to the in-box Apple mouse and keyboard.) The iMate adapter opens an entire world of devices to iMac
users, including mouse devices, keyboards, trackballs, joysticks, and trackpads.

Apple Reports Third Quarter Profit of US$ 101 Million
Apple Computer announced a profit of US$ 101 million, or $.65 per diluted share for its fiscal 1998 third quarter, which ended June 26, 1998. These results compare to a profit of US$ 55 million, or $.38 per diluted share, in the quarter ending March 1998. The iMac release will lead to a fourth as well be asured of that.
